Dr. Stuart Feder, a practicing psychiatrist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, will rejoin MahlerFest for a lecture on Mahler and the Second Symphony.   Dr. Feder was also trained as a musician at Peabody Conservatory and Harvard.   He has written many articles on Mahler and the background of his songs, and also an analysis of Charles Ives, My Father's Song, in which Feder details the close relationship between Ives and his father, and how it influenced the younger man's outlook on life and his music.  Attendees of the Symposium during MahlerFest XI will recall Dr. Feder's insightful and detailed account of Mahler's encounter with Sigmund Freud.
