IGMS Gold Medal
In August 2005, the
Colorado MahlerFest learned that it was one of four
recipients of the International Gustav Mahler Society
(IGMS) Mahler Gold
Medal.

Laurel Wreath
In Mahler's day, conductors and composers were
honored by the presentation of a laurel wreath, and
Mahler's orchestra presented him with a wreath in
appreciation of his Sixth Symphony. In the same
spirit, Maestro Olson was awarded a laurel wreath in
2003 by the Colorado MahlerFest Orchestra at the
conclusion of MahlerFest XVI, during which Mahler's
Sixth Symphony was the featured work.
